Three categories exist on the market. Used: engine pulled from a donor vehicle, sold as-is or after a light clean. Reconditioned: tested, key wear parts replaced, sold with warranty. Remanufactured: stripped to bare block, machined and rebuilt to OEM tolerances. Back Auto Moteurs only sells reconditioned engines: 4 documented tests per unit and 10 months of warranty on every engine shipped.

Our technical team confirms compatibility manually before every quote, working from your registration, VIN or engine code. The engine code itself (CFF, OM651, N57…) is the most reliable of the three identifiers. If the unit we ship differs from the validated reference, the swap and the transport are at our cost in full.

Allow 5 working days on average for France, Benelux and Germany, and 7 to 10 working days for Southern Europe, the UK, Switzerland and the Nordics. Every shipment leaves tracked and insured at the quoted price. Lead times by zone.

The warranty covers internal mechanical defects of the engine in full for 10 months. It does not apply to amateur fitting, fitting outside manufacturer specifications, overheating, contaminated fuel or mechanical modification. Every condition is set out in plain language on the warranty page, with no buried clauses.

Open a dossier within 72 hours of delivery for any defect visible on receipt, or as soon as one surfaces during fitting. More than eight cases in ten close remotely with your fitter, using fault codes and live readings. Where a return is required, we organise pickup at our cost. After-sales in detail.

Yes. Standard delivery to 22 EU countries, with the UK covered on a dedicated quote. Customs duties and import VAT are settled on arrival for non-EU destinations — they sit outside the quote, but we supply every clearance document needed.

No. The quote price is the price paid, with no deposit and no surcharge held back for core exchange. Disposal of your existing engine sits with your fitter, under EU end-of-life vehicle rules.
